Exclusive: Tata Motors Nepal Conducting An Extensive Testing Of Nexon EV Before Launch

Tata Motors will extensively conduct an In-Market Testing (IMT) of the
upcoming Nexon EV
in the Nepalese terrain for at least 5000 km before its mid-July launch. As per our sources, to prove its reliability, the Tata Nexon EV will be rigorously tested across several terrains comprising multiple cities, unpaved roads, and different highways.The noteworthy point here is that Tata Motors is also the first company in Nepal to conduct such tests and the results obtained from the IMT will help the company to develop a suitable action plan to set up a complete EV ecosystem in terms of state-of-the-art infrastructure and charging stations.

With the new revised duty structures for EVs coming into effect from the upcoming fiscal year
, the new roadmap for EV adoption laid out by the Nepal government clearly shows the commitment towards promoting EVs. Nepal has always been a strategic market for Tata Motors and the company is eager to join the EV revolution in Nepal by playing a similar role which it played in the electrification journey of India, by reinforcing its commitment towards developing sustainable and responsible EV solutions and thereby mainstreaming EVs in the market.The Nexon EV is equipped with a powerful and high-efficiency 127 BHP permanent-magnet AC motor powered by a high capacity 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery. The motor produces 245 Nm of instant torque from a standstill, enabling Nexon EV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.9 seconds. The EV comes with best-in-industry dust and waterproof battery pack which meets IP67 standards.Nexon EV delivers an ARAI-certified range of more than 300+km on a single charge and a real-world practical range of 200-250km. When plugged into a fast DC Charger, the Nexon EV will replenish 80% battery capacity within 60 minutes. In addition, the Nexon EV can be charged from any 15 amp plug point.

The new Nexon EV sports a bold and confident design that brings into play the Impact Design 2.0 language. The new design further accentuates the already strong and purposeful stance of the Nexon, resulting in a road presence that makes it stand out & apart. On the inside, the Nexon EV cabin comes with a modern design, spacious interior, and premium sound management to deliver a comfortable tranquil drive. The vehicle also comes with a 7-inch Harman infotainment system offering unmatched acoustics. It also supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
